We are expecting our second child. The due date is late September and as with Makoto, we will have the baby in Japan. This time however, we will have a two-year-old with us!

Phreadom has been working hard behind the scenes. He added an RSS feed for the forum which is simply awesome. If you use Firefox, you can have the RSS feed show as a bookmark.

A lot has changed in the past week or two.

Phreadom, the creator of the highly acclaimed (and much downloaded) Japanese Learning Suite is actively working on a few backend problems here at TJP. He and Axlen (another great member) have done much in the past few weeks to get the site back in working order.

Phreadom is responsible for the lovely new header image and Axlen has fixed a number of problems with the Shoutbox. Thanks guys!!

Now everyone has their own image gallery (if you want)!

NOTE: I'm not 101% sure all the bugs are worked out, so please give it a shot (if you have any spare photos around) and let me know of any problems. I'm just about to fall asleep, but I'll check things in the morning.

All you have to do is click on 'Gallery' in the left menu. Then click on 'Your Album' to the middle right and then 'Add a Photo.'

I'm going to try to upgrade the Groups module. I hope I don't break anything...

The people who are working on the theming of the forums say they have it ready on their server, but they haven't sent me the link. :( Once I approve it, they say it can take up to 8 hours during which time, the forum could act funny. I will of course let you know when the time comes.

I got a call from Joe in Australia this morning around 5ish. He had tried (once again) to import the users who hadn't made a post on the old server. All users who have had at least one post have been moved, but the rest will have to be moved separately.

He has tried on multiple occasions to add them to the database but each time the database crashes. 1and1 (the hosting company) supposedly moved this issue up to the 'highest priority' yesterday morning. But it still isn't fixed.

I am still a bit miffed.

I'm not sure what the new plan for chat is...

I turned off the authentication on the old chat server, so you can now create a new account with a name and password and 'Register', after that it still works, just not tied to TJP user database.

When things settle down we can tie into the new TJP user database, or maybe back to Flash chat.

(sorry, i've been ill for a couple of months and just can't keep up with the TJP changes.)

For the time being, i'll keep the old chat server up, you just have to register now and everything else should be the same.

Next to the Syndication icon at the top right, I made a little icon that will tell you who (if anyone) is in the Flashchat program. Try clicking on it.

There are three chat choices I have set--Please go to the chat link at the top navigation bar and let me know which you prefer.

Flashchat looks the snazziest, but as someone pointed out, you can't use Rikaichan with it.

I'm still leaning toward Flashchat since we used to have it and it was so missed when it was gone.
