When combined with other
When combined with other kanji, readings may have slight alterations to them.
For example: 秋空(あきぞら / Akizora)〓Autumn Sky
By themselves, they are read Aki and Sora, but combined they become Akizora.
You notice when some kanji are combined: H's become B's, K's become G's, S's become Z's, etc.
