Most countries
have kanji, although most people don't know what they are except
dictionary makers. The long string of kanji that make up the
country's name is unimportant. You won't be tested on that.
However what is important is the single kanji abbreviation of the
country...
NOTE: Country names are almost always written in katakana except in newspapers where it is always written in the single kanji abbreviation. The long kanji name is not used, except Japan.
