あとで Afterwards

afterwards; after; after this; later

■ Verb (past form) + あとで + (what comes after)
食(た)べたあとで、寝(ね)た。 After (I) ate, I slept. (casual)

■ Noun + の + あとで
学校(がっこう)のあとで、買(か)い物(もの)をします。 After school, I'll go shopping.

例文(れいぶん) EXAMPLE SENTENCE

今(いま)は忙(いそが)しいので、あとでします。

I am busy now, so I will do it later.

あとでゆっくり話(はな)しましょう。

later-take time-let’s speak
Let’s catch up later.

COMMENTS

■ あと is also written with kanji: 後で

■ あと - the で can be omitted in casual speech.
