If you are a beginner (total or the kind of beginner who can't seem to leave the beginner stage), we have a huge but inexpensive digital bundle just for you.
It's called Beri- Beri- Shoshinsha. It not only covers the total basics (kana, grammar, and essential vocabulary), but also includes dozens of short, curated stories to help you improve your reading, understanding, and vocabulary.
The vocabulary list shown above: When hovering over each kanji, the red hiragana is very small and doesn’t always show up correctly. Could its size be increased?
Yes, you can hit control + (or Command + on a Mac) to increase the window size. Which furigana is incorrect? Thanks!
If you click on your correct answer multiple times before it goes to the next question, it will automatically make the proceeding question correct for however many times you clicked it.
You found the hidden cheat code! 🙂 When I have time, I’ll try to fix that. In the meantime, just click once. 🙂

Glad to hear you liked it. I’ll do another one with different words soon!
THis was a lot of fun — I have studied sentences and their translations but have never been tested on vocabulary. I am slow as molassas however faired a lot better (46 out of 49) than I expected!!! Again this exercise was fun for me.
Excellent job! I made the katakana quiz a lot harder. The romaji is much more tricky. Check it out: https://www.thejapanesepage.com/katakana-practice-quiz/
That was fun! Thank you for sharing <3
Glad you liked it! I should have a Katakana one done today. I’ll email everyone about it or you can look for it linked on the front page in a few hours.
Thank you for this quiz. It was really helpful to practice 🙂 Future quizzes will be most welcomed!
Thanks! I’m planning one on katakana this Sunday. I’ll email everyone in the newsletter about it when ready.
That was fun! Do you have one for カタカナ ? Katakana is much harder for me. I’m quite slow in reading it compared to ひらがな。
Great idea! I’ll work on that after finishing some editing on our History books (this week’s project).
Cool stuff 👍
Thanks for going through it. Practice makes perfect!
Very enjoyable and fairly quick. A nice break in the day. 🙂
