■ easy; not difficult; prone to (do something)

■  Verb (-masu stem form) + やすい

   わかります (to understand) → わかりやすい  (easy to understand)

COMMENTS

■  This is formed just as you would にくい (difficult to) but means the opposite. Click here to learn how to form "difficult to".

■  In addition to meaning “easy to” it can also mean “prone to” or “likely to happen” as in: この車(くるま)は事故(じこ)が起(お)こりやすい。 An accident is likely to happen with this car.

■  Add to the -ます form of a verb:

食(た)べる　→　 食(た)べ ます　→　食(た)べやすい
to eat → to eat (polite) → easy to eat
