Grammar Notes:
■ お金を もって きて もいい です。 (You) may bring money.
The 〜てもいい construction means “you may” or “it is allowed.” Tack もいい (also okay) after the て form of a verb to make that act permissible:
- 食べても いい です か？ Is it all right to eat?
- しつもん しても いい です か？ May I ask a question?
- どっち でも いい です。 Either way is fine.
- なんでも いい です。 Anything is fine.
You can also use it with a negative to mean “there’s no need” or “you don’t have to…”
